Our client is looking to add a Staff Accountant to their team! This is an in office position with room for growth, compensating $55000 - $65000 / year (depending on experience).
Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Fairfax, VA
Compensation: $55000 - $65000 / year
Keys to Hire:
- Responsible for preparing month-end balance sheet review and performing account reconciliations
- Coordinating new vendor setup and maintaining vendor contact
- Able to reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with AP and AR processing and review of discrepancies
- Create journal entries and assist with account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and credit card reconciliations
- Manage the processing of cash receipts, recording of revenue and receivable and working closely with various departments to ensure that revenues and receivables are reconciled accurately
- Prepare and analyze the monthly budget/forecast to actual variance reports per program and department.
- Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals and prepaid expenses.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements, budget performance, and interim grant financial reporting
Requirements:
- Must possess 5 years of accounting experience or have previous staff accountant background
- Proficient in Excel
- Strong knowledge of large ERP systems (Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, Great Plains)
- Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Well organized and a self-starter
- Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting/Business Administration
