We are seeking an experienced Director of Content Marketing to lead the company's editorial focus and content development. In this role, you will bring strategy, cohesion, and consistency with an audience-first approach to company-level content across all marketing channels.

 

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will be responsible for developing the cross-channel editorial processes and overarching content strategy to ensure channels are aligned, messages are strategic, and operations are efficient. The ideal candidate has proven expertise in building a content strategy that aligns with business objectives, developing and measuring the success of assets, and aligning cross-functional teams around unified goals.

 

For this lead strategist role, we are looking for candidates with proven ability to direct a robust content marketing engine to help advance awareness, drive engagement, and move prospective customers along their path to “purchase”. This role aligns various functions of the marketing team that produces content closely with the other centralized roles, ensuring we work together as an integrated whole. Our Director of Content Marketing will work with the communication, digital engagement, website, and advertising teams to ensure content resonates with the target market and creates the best experience across all touch points.

 

Summary of Role:

  • Align teams and generate a cohesive editorial calendar and content strategy for all 25 facilities and locations
  • Manage the cross-channel content strategy, working alongside internal stakeholders to refine the existing themes and topics that build audiences and move them through the customer journey.
  • Direct and execute the content engine, overseeing briefing, development, production, deployment, and content engine/ecosystem management.
  • Develop standards, systems, and methodologies (both human and technological) for content creation, distribution, storage, maintenance, retrieval, and content repurposing.
  • Support consistency and cohesion across various content pieces for brand-level content, including landing pages, email campaigns, social media, and more.
  • Serve as an in-house editor-in-chief for all external-facing content and mentor high-performing subject matter experts throughout the organization to ensure consistency and relevancy to target audiences.
  • Own the end-to-end content creation and review process.
  • Educate the regional marketing teams on how to create effective, purposeful content.

 

Qualifications Summary:

  • 8+ years’ experience in marketing, with a least two leading content strategy (or similar)
  • Experience developing high-quality content in the form of marketing and sales collateral, website, email, and social media writing
  • A primary area of interest in leading strategy and working across functions to map out the most efficient processes to activate the strategy
  • Enjoys the content ideation process and is energized by developing audience-centric content ideas
  • Thrives in the creativity of producing relevant and insightful content
  • Curious and uses data to continuously improve the impact of content
  • Expert project management skills and understanding of how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment and focus on the delivery of results in the form of engagement, leads and sales
  • A firm understanding of user experience and strong search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) skills
  • Experience building or evolving a brand through effective storytelling and crafting a narrative to suit the appropriate audience while understanding the importance of unified and consistent messaging across all marketing and communications.
  • Can build a well-oiled marketing engine that delivers transparent ROI irrespective of the channel
  • Analytical expertise with the ability to interpret and optimize a complex business model across multiple channels and interdependent stakeholders
